CALL FOR PAPERS World Digital Libraries: An International Journal (WDL) announces Call for Papers World Digital Libraries: An International Journal is a peer reviewed bi-annual journal on digital libraries. The journal is being published since last 4 years and has already gained acclamation among the global library community. Previous issues are available at http://bookstore.teriin.org/journal_inside.php?material_id=477 The aim of the journal is to advance the theory and practice of acquisition, organization, management and dissemination of digital information on a sustainable basis. The journal is having global coverage and provides a platform for library and information science professionals to express views and share experiences. The journal seeks quality research papers/articles/reviews/short communications that present original theoretical approaches and experimental case studies related to digital library development and maintenance. · Theoretical and methodological issues of DL · Issues related to electronic resources management, digital preservation, multiple access, multi-linguality; and other DL technology aspects · Digital rights management, copyright issues and other security aspects; · Initiatives taken towards digitization through lucid case studies; · Current developments across the globe The contribution should examine concepts, analyses, new approaches, and techniques pertaining to this field. Case studies covering new initiatives, as well as procedural breakthroughs of important issues in the digital library field would be included. Book reviews will cover recent books in the field, reviewed by an independent reviewer. Dear Professional It was with a great sense of loss when I heard of Dr. S.P.Satarkar’s death. Dr. Satarkar Sir was always so kind and considerate to us that we always welcomed seeing him at every opportunity. It's a huge loss to Library & Information Science Profession. We sincerely convey our grief on the sad demise of the great person. Dear Friends I want to write about Justbooks lending library chain. I visited today one of the four outlets in Hyderabad - in Trimulgherry near Karkhana, to be precise. The ambiance is excellent and very inviting. They have arranged books age wise -- kids, pre teens, teens and as wel by broad subjects. They have several plans. A registration fee of Rs 500, refundable deposit varying from Rs 500 to Rs 1500, a monthly subscription starting at Rs 150 going up to Rs 250 depending upon number of books needed at a time. An ad-hoc (on demand) plan costs rs 500 as deposit and rs 75 per book per loan returnable within a month. I found kids enjoying reading in cozy atmosphere.The library has online union catalog of books easily searchable via touch screen menu. All books have RFID tags for charging / discharging. Title should be in bold with centre alignment. • Adopt single line spacing for the text & between paragraphs • Place page no. on the bottom centre of page. • 1.25” margin on left & 1” margin on top, bottom .& right . • An abstract key word and a short bio-data including institution and contact information, E-mail ID should be attached in to separate pages. • Two hard copies and a soft copy of the research paper along with the registration form and Demand Draft should reach Govt .E .Raghvendra Rao P.G. UGC NET Examination: aspirents are in dillema

Dear friends, UGC has declared structure for paper 3 in ugc net examination. as per this structure they redesigned paper 3 to objective and qualifing marks to be consider for results.... But now we are in dillema as ugc has declared that achieving minimum qualifying marks does not mean we qualified the test. The final qualifying criteria for JRF and NET will be declared by the UGC before declaration of result... So, now what this criteria could be... Whether UGC will declare a cut of list.. or they will go for percentiles or what... This confusion will be clear only after declaration of result of june exam..... Pawan Agrawal *UGC-NET IN OBJECTIVE MODE FROM JUNE, 2012 ONWARDS* 1. The UGC-NET will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012 onwards. The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions as under: SessionPaper Number of Questions Marks DurationFirst I60 out of which 50 questions are to be attempted 50x2 = 1001¼ Hours (09.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.) FirstII 50 questions all of which are compulsory50x2 = 100 1¼ Hours (10.45 a.m. to 12.00 Noon.)Second III75 questions all of which are compulsory 75x2 = 1502½ Hours (01.30 p.m. to 04.00 p.m.) 2. The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below: Category Minimum marks (%) to be obtained Paper-I Paper-II Paper-III General 40 (40%) 40 (40%) 75 (50%) OBC 35 (35%) 35 (35%) 67.5 (45%) rounded off to 68 PH/VH/SC/ST 35 (35%) 35 (35%) 60 (40%) Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result. However, the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of result. 3. The syllabi of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same. 4. The candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of the examination. 5.
