Dear Professional Colleagues, Congratulations to Department of Public Libraries, Govt. of Karnataka for having launched the Portal on Karnataka in Kannada entitled " Suvarna Karnataka Kannada Antarjala Vahini (Suvarna Karnataka Portal)" on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebration of the formation of Karnataka State. This unique Portal gives various kinds of information about Kannada and Karnataka including Education, Health, Agriculture, Entertainment, Kannada Films and songs, Kannada Literature, Fine Arts, Sports, Cooking, Law, etc. One of the main attraction is Children Section with stories and songs. Although there is lot of scope for improvement in terms design, browse and search options and content organization with still more coverage, being sincere attempt of its kind to give one source for everything about and on Kannada and Karnataka, the group responsible is praise worthy for this wonderful work. This survey has been adapted from the DRIVER Inventory study into the present type and level of OAI-compliant digital repository activities in the EU by Maurits de Graaf and SURF, and from the European repository study by Alma Swan, Key Perspectives Ltd. The results of this survey will be made available online via a wiki. All participants in this study will receive an invitation to look at and comment on the results of this inventory for their own country. This is the first time that such data will be collected about digital repository activity in developing and transition countries, and we hope this will serve as important resource for promoting open access and repository development in these regions. We look forward to your cooperation. We encourage all repository managers in developing and transition countries to participate. INFLIBNET Centre being a gateway of the Academic Community of the Country has created various databases of the library resources for helping academic user community such as research scholars, faculty members, students etc. since 1992. Experts database, one of the important databases, contains the profile of subject experts / faculty members working at universities, Deemed universities, IITs, Medical institutions, Research and Development Centres across the Country. INFLIBNET has been maintaining and updating this database for last five years and making continuous efforts to collect the profile of remaining faculty members including updation of existing profiles time to time.
