Invitation for submission of Papers: Papers on information management are invited for an edited book entitled, " MANAGING INFORMATION IN NEW MILLENNIUM:OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS" The editor for the book would be Ashok Kumar Sahu. This book would be published by Kanishka Publisher, New Delhi or IIMT-Gurgaon. Significance of the work: The Information Communication Technology (ICT) revolution in the last decade has had a drastic and far-reaching impact on all aspects of professional endeavour particularly in the knowledge and information sector. By the late 1990's when information was regularly disseminated across computers and other electronic devices, information managers found themselves tasked with increasingly complex devices. With the latest tools available, information management has become a powerful resource for organizations.. Information Management (IM) is characterised by the phrase 'Getting the right information to the right person at the right place at the right time'. Present society is moved to knowledge-based society for which information is the primary importance. Information is the key resource of productivity and growth of any orgainization. In this changing context, library professionals are facing lot of challenges to capture, process, store, and disseminate the information for society. Information Management (IM) is a crucial job for the library professionals in the new era. This book helps to library professionals to better understand how to manage the information in 21st century. The book would be a valuable resource for the librarians, academics and professionals involved with managing information. It would also be immensely useful for students pursuing master degrees and doctoral work in the area of information management. Hi-Tech Library Format : The articles may be in the form of empirical research, theoretical models based on extensive research, case studies, and documentation of best practices. Papers are invited both from library professionals and academicians. The articles must be about 10 -15 pages , Times New Roman format, 11 font size, single line spacing. Appropriate referencing must be used wherever possible. It must also be accompanied by about 50-100 words abstract. The authors name and the article title must be indicated on page 1. The article must be accompanied by a small biography of contributing authors giving details on designation and current institutional affiliation. Submissions: Submissions must be made online.
