However, the emerging technologies have been shaping them (libraries) to function as dynamic hubs of knowledge and information. In the era of such technological advancements, libraries have to keep evolving in the ways they function while meeting diverse user needs. One of the identifiable challenges faced by library/information service providers is in addressing the problem of ‘information overload’ while navigating vast collections of information and assisting users with the information they need in less time and with more efficiency. Recommender systems (or recommendation systems) functioning as efficient information filtering tools, search through large volumes of dynamically generated information, and provide users with personalized content and are therefore widely recognized for their role in e-commerce and online media platforms.
