For those of us who don’t have access to those products, Dimensions runs on a freemium model, allowing anyone to utilize basic functions while its owners hope that organizations and universities pay for higher level functionality and support. Users in the free version should find the functionality much like other citation databases, being able to search by subject keywords, journal title, author name and, say, university name. (I've run a few searches and it feels similar to Scopus.) The free version of this tool could be very helpful to researchers: helping find the names of journals publishing in specific disciplines (and the quality of those journals), providing papers/citations in those disciplines and maybe even potential collaborators. Those paying for the premium version would also be able to get information on grants, clinical trials and patents — and presumably more metric tools. Informatics Studies focuses on interdisciplinary and international perspectives on Informatics. Priority areas are studies on ICT application for narrowing the digital divide, language technology for regional languages, which is crucial for Asian and African countries for reaching the un-reached. Informatics Studies has also covered the works of scientists who laid foundations Information Science like Patrick R Penland and Earnest J Mann, Allan Bromeley etc with selected papers by them and also a special issue on Eugene Garfield within four years of the journal’s forays into LIS research publishing. Informatics Studies be publishing in 2018 a special issue on Prof. S R Ranganathan; whose works form the foundation of the science of Information Management. Scholars are requested to contribute papers on SR Ranganathan’s life and work correlating with the current developments in the KM scenario for the special issue on Prof. S R Ranganathan. LibTECH and Koha Awards presented at the Library Technology Conclave (LTC2018), Goa

Dear Friends, It is indeed a great pleasure for us at Informatics to share with you the successful conclusion of LTC2018 at Goa University. The event witnessed the inauguration of the conclave by Her Excellency Governor of Goa and Chancellor, Goa University, Smt. Mridula Sinha and words of encouragement through a video message by the Hon'ble Union Minister of Human Resources and Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar in the presence of Honb'le Vice Chancellor of Goa University, Shri Varun Sahni. The presentations during the event from National and International speakers were extremely thought provoking and a learning experience for all the delegates. The star attraction of the event was two awards - the Best Koha Library Award and The LibTECH Award (for the Best technology enabled library). We received 12 nominations for Koha Award and 11 nominations for the LibTECH Award. The conclave concluded with the presentation of awards to the winners as under: 1. The Best Koha Library Award was presented to the Cochin University of Science and Technology Library, Kochi 2. The LibTECH Award was presented to Information Resource Centre, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) represented by TCS, Pune and Mumbai at the conclave. Hearty congratulations to both the winners! The awards were decided by two independent panels of Juries, one for Koha chaired by Mr. Christopher Cormack and another chaired by Dr. Marshall Breeding based on the criteria set by the juries. We would also like to thank all nominee institutions, panel of juries, speakers and delegates, and Goa University for their support in organizing the LTC2018.
