Dear LIS Colleagues, Greetings, I am looking for a reviewer to read one of my manuscripts (journal article) before it is submitted to one of our peer reviewed journals. Would someone wiling to help in this regard? Few other LIS forums that I am part of it, has some volunteers to come forward to read others manuscripts (esp artcles). It is in fact an encouragement from senior authors/editors to review and give suggestions for improvement. This helps the budding authors to shape their works before it is submitted to journal publications. Look forward to hear from one to volunteer. A diamond can sharpen other diamond. Similarly in public and other libraries children’s may not be allowed for purchase suggestions or lower level of non technical/teaching staffs in special libraries. Hence this restriction is very much needed which is applicable for all libraries globally. sad demise of Prof. R. K. Rout

Dear friends, I received a phone call from my teacher Prof. Pitambar Padhi today evening at around 9 p.m. and got the news that was really shocking. Therefore, with a deep sense of sorrow and grief, I would like to inform you all that one of the veteran in LIS Profession Professor Ratnakar Rout fondly known as Prof. R.K Rout has left for his heavenly abode today afternoon i.e. 15th February 2018 at 1:40 p.m in his residence at Cuttack, Odisha. He was a former Professor and Head, P.G.department of Library & Information Science, Sambalpur University, Odisha. He was born in 1946 and was regarded as an acclaimed LIS Professor in India. He was a great teacher and philosopher who has immensely contributed to the field of LIS Education in Odisha. He was instrumental in establishing LIS department at Sambalpur University, Odisha, that is now considered as the oldest LIS Department in Odisha. It is a great loss to his family, friends and LIS profession as well. May his departed soul rest in peace.
