Carry your web browser with all your favorite bookmarks Carry your calendar with all your appointments Carry your email client with all your contacts and settings Carry your instant messenger and your buddy list Carry your whole office suite along with your documents and presentations Carry your antivirus program and other computer utilities Carry all your important passwords and account information securely Yes it is possible with Portable Apps. A portable app is a computer program that you can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any Windows computer. When your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device is plugged in, you have access to your software and personal data just as you would on your own PC. And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind. This portability allows you to use programs on a computer that doesn't have them installed. For example, you may love using Mozilla Firefox at home, but your office's computer policies forbid installing it. You can get around the problem by running Firefox at work from a thumb drive. Web Curator Tool 1.1 Released

Dear Friends, Kindly share the following information Web Curator Tool 1.1 Released on (22 September 2006) The National Library of New Zealand, the British Library, and Sytec Resources Ltd are pleased to announce the official launch of the Web Curator Tool as an open-source project. The release was announced on Friday at The 6th International Web Archiving Workshop in Alicante, Spain. Steve Knight (National Library of New Zealand) and Philip Beresford (British Library) spoke about the development of the tool and their future plans, and Arun Persad gave a live demonstartion of the tool in action. Version 1.1 of the Web Curator Tool can be downloaded from http://webcurator.sf.net/. The source code is also freely available under the terms of the Apache Public License. Next month PLoS is launching an open peer-reviewed journal called PLoS One, focusing on Science and Medicine. Google has introduced a new search service -- strictly for computer programmers only. Google Code Search, a site that simplifies how software developers search for programming code to improve existing software or create new programs.
