Dear LIS professionals, The Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC), Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore, is inviting online applications from highly motivated students to work as Project Linked Personnel (PLP). - *Project title:* "Facility for transforming library data to linked library data," funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) from 20 March 2023 through 19 March 2025. - *Qualification*: - - *Essential*: Master’s in Library and Information Science/ Information Science/ Documentation and Information Science, or equivalent in related areas with minimum 55% marks and NET/SLET/M.Phil/Ph.D. Good oral and written communication skills in English. - *Desirable*: Knowledge in Python programming and exposure to semantic technologies such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL, etc. will be a plus. - *Number of positions*: 01 (One) - *Emoluments*: Rs. 20,000.00 (twenty thousand) per month consolidated. - *Tenure of Appointment*: The appointment will initially be for one year, extendable till the end of the duration of the project, subject to satisfactory performance. - *Age*: Should not exceed 35 years as of June 1, 2023, with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and differently-abled candidates. However, the highvolatility in the value of cryptocurrencies, its decentralised network and lackof formal regulation pose severe threats to the monetary policy role of centralbanks. Hence, this study explored the dynamics of cryptocurrencies and how itaffects the monetary policy roles of central banks. The study showed thatcryptocurrencies help foster the actualisation of cashless economies andseamless international transactions but its lack of international coordinationhas continued to undermine tapping optimally into its inherent benefits. Therefore,this study emphasised the imperativeness of central bank digital currencies(CBDCs) for effective financial sector regulation and protection of users ofthis financial innovation. This would broaden the central banks' horizon andexpand their capacities to harness the potential of this novel financialinnovation for the effective administration of conventional and unconventionalmonetary policies.
