Where to donate?
by Padmanabha Vyasamoorthy 16 May '08

Dear Friends A friend of mine in Delhi has a collection of about 100 rare books manuscripts & palm leaves, mostly in Tamil left by his father. He wants to donate them to some institution that may preserve it for future use. Digitisation is one of the options also. Do you know of libraries where he can try? Any leads will be appreciated. My own efforts have not yielded any results. Dear professionals, Eldis, a development portal, hosts this group which is intended to provide links to good places to go to access a number of resources on ebooks and online resources, such as Eldis itself. This space is partly to complement the work of Book Aid International's physical book donation program, enabling BAI's partners and group members to share their knowledge of the many and varied free or low-cost sources of information available on the web. In addition to online resources members can include information resources available offline for free such as CD-ROMs. Visit this link for detail : http://community.eldis.org/?14@@.5995b0fd Shriram Pandey IKM Trainee NCSI, IISc B'lore-12 -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

by Moumita Dey 14 May '08

Libsys Corporation itself arranges training programme for their clients in regular interval. They train in two stages: 1st level and 2nd level training. But the best and ultimate way is self learning by surfing and handling the software for day to day library activities. Though the training helps a lot. rgrds, Moumita -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
