Dear Friends, The P. G. Department of Library & Information Science is going to organise a State level Seminar on Managerial Skill of Librarians in 21st century during 10-11 February 2012. The Theme of the Seminar Librarianship as a profession has been experiencing a paradigm shift in the present century. The emergence of ICT and its application in LIS has ushered in radical changes in the technology, practices and management of libraries. The traditional managerial skills of the librarians have been proved be outdated as a consequence of the changes in the types of resources, technology, services, user expectations, administrative requirements, etc. In order to keep pace with the changes, professional skills of the librarians need to be upgraded for efficient management of the libraries. With this objective, the State level Seminar on Managerial Skills of the Librarians in 21st century is being organized to provide a platform for the librarians, academicians, researchers and students of LIS in the state to enhance their managerial skills. Sub-themes • Management Theories and practices • Management of Library Technologies: Automation, Digitization, Networking, etc. • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) • Electronic Resource Management (ERM) • Human Resource Management (HRM) • Performance Appraisal and Quality assessment • Management of Financial Resources • Advanced Library Technology/Services • Managing Soft Skills • Project Management/Time Management/Stress Managament Call for Paper Papers on the Theme and Sub Themes enumerated above or any other issues related with the broad theme may be submitted for presentation in the Seminar. All papers will go through a process of review by a panel of experts and accepted papers will be published in the Seminar Proceedings. Papers may also be accepted for Poster Presentations. The papers should not exceed 3000 words and should contain an abstract.
