Dear LIS professionals Apart from "Shodhganga" what are the online available sources for searching MLIS and Ph.D. dissertations and theses did in the library and information science departments of universities in India? In other words, if some LIS professional is doing MLIS or wishes to do Ph. D. which sources are there he/she may consult to see the recent dissertations and thesis done in India? The "Shodhganga" websites says "The UGC Notification (Minimum Standards & Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / Ph.D Degree, Regulation, 2016) dated 5th May 2016 mandates submission of electronic version of theses and dissertations by the researchers in universities with an aim to facilitate open access to Indian theses and dissertations to the academic community worldwide." My questions are following: 1. Is all the MLIS and Ph.D. theses and dissertations submitted by the students to Shodhganga? 2. If they do not submit it to "Shodhganga" then what are the prominent active repositories where students submit their research work? 3. What search methodology a MLIS and Ph.D. students should adopt to view the already done researchers in the LIS field in India? The workshop is useful for librarians, information professionals, teachers and researchers interested in the field of library automation. The Oxford Dictionaryâs selection of the term âPost-truthâ as the word of the year in 2016 puts forward the need of questioning the accuracy of the information. Post-truth is defined as ârelating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal beliefâ and can be effective in information dissemination processes, information seeking behaviors of individuals, production and use of information. Information management discipline has a very important function in terms of raising awareness of individuals for distinguishing the fake information and facts. For this reason, it is extremely important that the concept of âPost-truthâ and its influences be discussed within the framework of the Information Management discipline and by its professionals. CONTRIBUTIONS Contributions can be theoretical as well as technical and practical. Informative case studies are also welcome. Contributions are not limited with the main theme: Â all types of papers, posters and presentations on information management in general are also welcome. The audience will be information professionals, data librarians, data curators, data managers, knowledge managers, researchers, information scientists, data scientists and computer engineers, among others. We acceptÂ extended abstractsÂ (no less than 750 words) for full papers; short communications, Research in Progress reports, and posters on all aspects of Post-truth and also information management. Extended abstracts for student papers and posters are also welcome. Extended abstracts of PhD students to present the interim findings of their ongoing research will also be considered. Please use the template available on the Symposium web site soon to prepare your contributions and send them to us using the Conference Management Software (openconf)Â by 1Â February, 2017. We also encourage session proposals. The coordinator of a special session will be responsible for the selection of papers (4-6 papers) and will chair the session. For session coordinators, registration fee will be waived. Accepted extended abstracts and proposals will appear in the âBook of Abstractsâ to be published prior to the Symposium. Displaying unique title and volume count on the Koha staff client

Kia Ora! Erstwhile SOUL and e-Granthalaya users from India, when they shift to Koha, often want a at-a-glance heads up view of the count of unique titles and number of copies which is there in SOUL and e-G. So, in memories of Santu Mondal, a young library professional, who left us untimely this day two years back, I'm sharing this new blog post on an upgrade-friendly way to display unique title and volume count (live data) on the Koha staff client using Koha’s SQL report facility in tandem with Koha’s Reports web service API pushing JSON formatted data and some Javascript. The solution is based on a SQL report available on the Koha wiki.
