At TCS, he directs one of the largest & vibrant library networks in the globe with 125 professionals & 62 libraries. He has made TCS IRC an industry leader through innovative processes, products & systems. He has successfully lead TCS library team to win the prestigious ‘Centre of Excellence Award’ from SLA (Special Libraries Association) USA, in 2009. He deployed Balance Score Card to library environment with proven results and set up new trends & benchmarks in Library management. Most recently he was instrumental in the TCS IRC team winning the first ever award for Best technology enabled Library–the LibTech Award-2018, instituted by The Informatics Group. He is very active in major Industry- academic interactions and encourages his large team to participate in L&IS events in India & abroad. He has successfully mobilized grants & resources to many International events like Info-Vision, ICADL, ICoASL, MILAN & many others. Dear Mr Vijayanand, Sometime back I had done the homework of implementing rfid system in Pillai College of Engg New Mumbai we could not finalise it for the want of funds.In my opinion Keltron RFID LMS is a better solution and which is well integrated with Koha .VTLS may be costlier in Indian conditions. Some of the professionals enjoyed highly paid salary without doing nothing and exploited their subordinates/resources/facility given to them. 4. Top leaders/experts could not appoint suitable candidates for the post and many cases where they might have appointed their incapable near and dears. 6. Rise of electronic media/resources which crossed the four walls of the libraries and reached in the hands of users without any assistance from LIS professionals/Libraries. Apart from other their may be many wrong/correct perception about the libraries because of which i can see peoples are now discussing the relevance of libraries itself rather than librarians. Dear all, Recent few advertisements is an alarm for Not library professionals but existence of Libraries itself in future. IIIT Allahabad and IIT Kanpur appointing Assistant Registrar <http://www.iitk.ac.in/new/data/recruitment/Advt_No_1_2018/Advt-No-1-2018-Fi…> and Dy. Registrar <https://www.iiita.ac.in/downloads/announcements/uploads/Rec295.pdf> in libraries and made library science related qualifications under essential or desirable. Seems the perception of libraries and librarian’s has been changed drastically in academic community/society the reasons may be as follows: 1. Some of the LIS professionals could not serve the community better. 2. Some of the LIS professionals attitude/behavior was totally against the ethics and irritable to users of library? 3. Some of the professionals enjoyed highly paid salary without doing nothing and exploited their subordinates/resources/facility given to them. 4. Many could not upgrade their libraries and themselves as per the current trend and information seeking behavior of users. 5. Top leaders/experts could not appoint suitable candidates for the post and many cases where they might have appointed their incapable near and dears. 6. Rise of electronic media/resources which crossed the four walls of the libraries and reached in the hands of users without any assistance from LIS professionals/Libraries. Apart from other their may be many wrong/correct perception about the libraries because of which i can see peoples are now discussing the relevance of libraries itself rather than librarians. He is also responsible formanaging e-resources, staff development, user education programmes, etc.Inadequate staff is one problem of the problem faced by many Librarians. Therefore, in such a situation it is neither fair nor logical toask/instruct Chief Librarian of Central Library to carry out stock-verificationof DLs.Â However, he can provide necessary guidance to "In-charge persons"of DL to manage their activities including stock-verification upon request fromthe HODs.
