Dear Professional Colleages: International Conference on Emerging Digital Library Platforms: Shaping Digital Transformation and National Data Exchange While the COVID-19 pandemic shook the world, many lockdowns have not stopped the spirit from thriving and competing. India has witnessed a gradual spike in qualified IT personnel and library professionals, embracing remote work and cloud infrastructure as the mantle to their industry sustenance. Industries like the automotive industry, construction, finance, logistics, and leisure took a massive hit during step s taken to control the pandemic. Small and medium businesses were among the worst affected by the lockdowns and stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus. Healthcare found it challenging to meet the demands of a vast Indian population. Libraries worldwide face hard choices around which services to of fer and how ranging from minimal restrictions to complete closure. We are aware that governments are taking different approaches, sometimes ordering the closure of all institutions, others indicating that life should continue as usual, and others simply leaving decisions up to library administrators. DRTC was established in 1962 as a constituent unit of the Indian Statistical Institute. On the invitation of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis, Dr. S.R. Ranganathan (1892-1972) (then National Research Professor in Library Science) started DRTC in Bangalore. Since its inception, DRTC has been considered a pioneer in Library and Information Science. To make the mark on the Occasion of the 75th anniversary of Independence of India and 60th Anniversary Celebrations of the Documentation Research and Training Center, (1962-2022), Indian Statistical Institute, and the 130thAnniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, (1892-1972) The Father of Indian Library Movement, Announces an International Conference on Digital Library Plat forms: National Data Exchange-Shaping Digit al Transformation, Emerging Technologies, Aug. 9-12, 2022 (ICEDLP). The conference aims to deliberate on developments and innovations in library and information science. It is also aimed at adapting to the journey of libraries using traditional knowledge organizing and management systems and classic systems. It has successfully (in most cases) moved librarians away from service desks to integrate with all their users, especially collaborating at the faculty level. It also helped create a well-rounded librarian with in-depth knowledge and experiences in many aspects of their liaison areas – collections, acquisitions, instruction, and focused research and scholarship in liaison areas/subjects. However, this model also has limitations. As academic institutional landscapes demographics evolve, curriculums change, technologies and librarians’ roles expand, liaison librarianship may not meet all the needs of students, researchers, and faculty in higher education systems. Many academic libraries are moving away from liaison models to functional and division roles. This is exactly what Ms. Kumaran will reflect upon, with her rich experience in the field of liaison library, during the webinar. *About the Resource Person:* Maha Kumaran is a Liaison Librarian for the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Since joining the university in 2010, she has served in multiple liaison roles and as the head of the Education & Music Library.
