Earlier computational approaches could model and precisely analyze only relatively simple systems. These technologies are termed as hard computing. But in real world, queries cannot be answered in a straight-forward yes or no. So machines should be tolerant of imprecision, uncertainty, partial truth and approximation. To deal with such problems, soft computing came in picture. The methodology to create soft computing is nature inspired and its role model is human brain. As the core elements of soft computing fuzzy logic, neural networks, genetic algorithms, machine learning and probabilistic reasoning are simulate to human brain. Therefore, unlike hard computing, soft computing provides intelligence to machines to respond in varying degrees of truth. The next step is to persuade all faculty and all students to place their postprints in an institutional or central repository such as arXiv, bioRxiv, and chemRxiv. The college is offering 13 UG courses, 7 PG courses and 1 M.Phil programme in regular stream and 5 UG courses, 8 PG courses and 12 M.Phil programmes in Self-finance stream. The College offers Ph.D programmes in English, Chemistry, Botany, Commerce, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Microbiology, Computer Science and Business Administration. About the Library The total area of the library is 13406 sq ft. with the seating capacity of 200. In addition to that, the library has Thesis collection, Question Banks and educational CDs. It is fully computerized with barcoding facilities and has Library Management Software. The library has got the membership of DELNET, American Information Resource Centre and Inflibnet which covers more than 5000 on-line journals. One server with storage capacity of 8 GB RAM and is available for e-resource management system with GSDL. Specialized services adapted in the library are Earn While You Learn Scheme, Best Library User Award, Students Service Centre, Library Club and Readers Club. About Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS) SALIS is a registered national professional body, actively involved in the development of all spheres of Library and Information Science by organizing various programmes like conferences, seminars, workshops and training programmes on emerging topics throughout the year in various parts of the country through its chapters located in many places. Scientists and scholars, whom the LIS community serves, will benefit immensely if all researchers and institutions have unique identifiers (such as ORCID iD for individuals and doi for documents). As a scientometricist, I have faced the problem of disambiguation of names of authors and institutions for more than three decades..
