Guruprasad, Senior Tecnical Officer of Center for Civil Aircraft Design and Development, CSIR-NAL, Bangalore has been awarded 'Excellence in Research' combined with a 'Honorable Mention Certificate' under the 'Special Achievement Category' for his outstanding contributions to 'Aerospace Information Management'. Dr Guruprasad's pioneering contributions has been in the area of Information Management and Information Dissemination to IAF pilots through Real-Time Digital Videography of critical parameters on aircraft behaviour. This is primarily related to CSIR-NAL's SARAS, India's 14 Seater Multi-Role Aircraft. The work has been highly lauded by the IAF pilots. His contributions also extends in providing high quality aircraft milestone documentation support to the Center for Civil Aircraft Design and Development, CSIR-NAL. Dr. R. Guruprasad holds a MLIS Degree from Annamalai University and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Mysore. The leaders of library movement very much wanted to participate in the conference and get further motivated but the British government denied permission for them since they felt that these leaders from the public would be undeserving and only representatives of the government were. The leaders in the library field felt humiliated at this incident since they were of the view that any conference without participation from the public was of no use and hence they wanted to show their strength of library movement to British rulers. Thereafter , the leaders contacted all the elders from different states across the country working in the field of public libraries and as a result under the able guidance of Sri Ayyanki Venkata Ramanayya for the first time a wonderful National library conference was conducted for two days from 14th to 15th Nov 1919 at Gokhale hall,Madras now Chennai. This conference in which a large number of representatives of library field from all the states participated was presided over by the then director of libraries, sri Kudalkar from Baroda province. There was tremendous response for the conference that it even beat the conference conducted by British government and not stopping at this a huge public rally was followed there by making the British rulers know what the people of Andhra Pradesh were in the field of libraries. In the seventh decade of nineteenth century i.e.,1960 ,sri Chakravarthy who was working as librarian in the ministry of finance , government of India ,Delhi used to have great affection for people of Andhra Pradesh who were instrumental in shaping the library movement and hence he too used to render his yeoman service for the same.The Indian library association submitted a memorandum to declare 14th Nov as National library day since it was a significant day on which the first signal of development of library movement on national level came into lime light and also to celebrate library week till 20th and it was duly forwarded to government of India. The government accepted the memorandum as it was and permission was granted to celebrate library week in all the libraries across the country from the year 1968. Respected All *Developing 21st Century Business Leaders through Practice: The Organizational Dynamics and Role of Librarians and Other Facilitators of Experiential Field-Based Learning In U.S. MBA Education* by *Cullen, Ann*, Ph.D., Simmons College,* 2017*, 258; 10602667 *Abstract (Summary)* This exploratory study identified the types of experiential field-based learning (FBL) courses included in the top 20 U.S. two-year MBA programs identified by the *2015 U.S. News & World Report* ranking. The foci of FBL courses are consulting projects in which students work outside the classroom to develop recommendations for solving a real business problem posed by a company or organization. This research analyzed the organizational structure of these courses and in particular, how business librarians, faculty, career services professionals, and other expert advisors supported the student teams in these courses. The research utilized a mixed methods approach, which began with an online survey of business librarians from the 20 programs, and continued with interviews, website analysis, and the development and analysis of six in-depth case studies. Theoretical support for this research drew from the field of sociology, with a dual focus on role theory and the concept of “jurisdictional claim” posed by Abbott’s 1988 theory of professions. This research informs new ways to conceptualize the design of FBL courses and the structure of embedded librarianship support with social network models that represent the engagement levels of various roles. Beyond the opportunity to work on real business projects, some additional benefits to students of FBL identified were practicing teamwork and learning from the field of consulting to apply to this work. The diverse roles that provided team support also helped the students learn how to make effective use of knowledge experts. Constraints to this pedagogy included working within an academic timeframe and having access to enough individuals with the right expertise to provide the customized attention required. Other factors included contending with project sponsors that changed their project focus, adapting roles and infrastructure to support FBL, and adequately communicating learning outcomes to all stakeholders. The rich evidence-based findings can be used to design user-centric products and services and transformative library experiences more attuned with the expectations of the diverse user groups. He is known for his Excellence in Innovation, Creativity, Public Relations, Management, and User Services. Above all, he is a great human being, source of inspiration and motivator, specially, to the younger minds and professionals. He will be superannuating on 30th June 2018 after serving for more than 35 years of dedicated service as a librarian, administrator and a researcher. He devoted his entire career to the library profession and its development. After completing his academics, Dr. Kademani joined Mangalore University Library, Mangalgangothri on 7th October 1982. He joined the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad on 21st May 1984 and later joined Scientific Information Resource Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai on 26.10.1988 and presently he is serving in the centre as Scientific Officer-G and shouldering the major responsibilities in the division. As on today he has received 1735 citations to his publications and his H-index is 25. He is also a referee to many national and international professional journals. It includes data available by remote access through the network and direct access (fixed media, e.g. disks). Various electronic resources include websites, online databases, electronic ¬journals, electronic ¬books, electronic integrating resources, and physical carriers in all formats. This seminar will discuss the characteristics of electronic resources, services, and issues of electronic ¬resources. The main focus of the seminar will be the modified web-based library services.
