The intern in Collection & Content Management Systems (Getty Digital) will gain intensive experience preserving Getty's unique collections and assets in digital format, which include archives of artists, galleries and art historians and audio/video artworks and documentation as well as websites, institutional born-digital records, and research data. The intern’s primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting and testing workflows for ingesting content of all types into a managed system, and developing creative ways to archive complex web experiences, with other projects assigned according to the intern’s particular skills and interests. Specific tasks may include developing preservation plans for file characterization, migration and normalization, performing quality assurance on web archives and troubleshooting technical issues that arise, assessing technical metadata for digital assets, and participating in the drafting of policies and procedures related to digital preservation. This is a hybrid internship with 3 days working on-site at the Getty Center in Los Angeles and 2 days remotely. The grant amount is $47,500 for twelve months, plus $1,500 towards relocation expenses if the intern is coming from outside the Los Angeles area. Housing is not provided. Support for research travel is available for up to $2,500. Please note that internships are open to students of all nationalities. Call For Papers Fourth International Conference on Science & Technology Metrics (STMet 2023) November 16-17, 2023 BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. UAE (www.socio.org.uk/stm) Building metrics is the key to science and technology measurement and translating the measures to work better. The metric is not confined to drawing numbers and analyze. Selecting a metric depends on synthesising multiple directions and evidence-based data. Producing benchmarks and standards in science and technology evaluation and implementing them with real data mark the full-fledged system. Recently, new metrics-based models are emerging to reflect science and technology growth. The proposed Science and Technology Metrics (STMet 2023) conference concerns how many metrics may involve assessing different aspects of science and technology, which are best expressed using different approaches. Besides the standard conference track and the Doctoral Symposium, STMetrics will host several workshops and tutorials related to the conference's theme. The workshops provide participants with a friendly, interactive atmosphere for presenting novel ideas and discussing their application of metrics in Science and Technology Systems. The goal of the tutorials is to enable the participants to familiarise themselves with theoretical and practical aspects and the application of metrics. The proposed conference comprises invited talks, presentations, tutorials, workshops and discussions. The STMet has tracks on specialised topics. The STMet address the below themes, not limited. The review process will enable the selection process of those accepted for their presentation at the international conference. Digital Scholarship Has Released the Artificial Intelligence and Libraries Bibliography

The Artificial Intelligence and Libraries Bibliography includes over 125 selected English-language articles and books that are useful in understanding how libraries are exploring and adopting modern artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. It covers works from January 2018 through August 2023. It includes a Google Translate link. The bibliography is available as a website and a website PDF with live links. Libraries have been exploring AI technology for a long time. In particular, there was an active period of experimentation from the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s that primarily focused on the use of expert systems. Many projects used expert system shells, which simplified development; however, some projects also used AI languages, such as Prolog. This period produced a significant number of library-related AI papers. Subsequently, library interest in AI diminished until around 2018, when research activity increased. The public release of generative AI systems in late 2022, such as ChatGPT, sparked a strong upsurge of interest in them and a rush to utilize their capabilities.
