*Here I am Sharing a story of NEE Cracker who took the Help of Library * *Achievement* Piyush Jha (19), a former student of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV), Paschim Vihar, has qualified for the *National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET)* <https://indianexpress.com/article/education/neet-ug-2023-result-why-joint-t…>with a 100% percentile. His rank stands at AIR 3 in the EWS category and AIR 88 overall. *Family* Piyush’s father works as a security guard and his mother is a homemaker. It had been difficult for them to sustain Piyush’s education on a single income but his parents as well his uncle worked hard to financially support his education as well as his preparation for NEET. *Help of Library* Piyus live in a rented two-bedroom house his my uncle’s family. So it was not possible to study at the house. So he joined a private library nearby to prepare for NEET. He used to go to a private library near to his house and spend 12 hours on a regular day and almost 14 hours when the exams were close. *Help of Online Education* Piyush shared that having the option of an online course made it much easier for him to prepare. “Offline packages at coaching centres are usually too expensive and if I didn’t have the option of online coaching, I don’t think I could’ve prepared for NEET.” To prepare for NEET 2023, Piyush had purchased a course batch from a private coaching centre which included recorded lectures, daily problem solving modules, and regular tests. Delegations of research performing and research funding organizations from 38 nations and six continents, including ministries of education and research, funders, university and research leadership, libraries and national-level library consortia, scientists and scholars, gathered at the 16th Berlin Open Access Conference (B16), held 6-7 June 2023 in Berlin. The statement that follows represents the strong consensus of all delegations present at the meeting. The global open access transition must advance at a far greater pace. Inequity is incompatible with scholarly publishing. Academic self-governance is an imperative in scholarly publishing. Author choice and author rights must be fully enabled. Publishers can restore our trust in their commitment to the integrity of scholarly communication by working with all members of the global research community to effect complete and immediate open access according to points stated above. Since becoming an academic librarian in 2016, she has found a passion for evidence synthesis. As a librarian with evidence synthesis expertise, she regularly collaborates with review teams from a variety of disciplines and has co-authored more than 20 reviews. She has also presented workshops at various conferences including the Academy of Management and the US Agriculture Information Network conferences. In 2022, she led the implementation of Evidence Synthesis Institute Canada to offer training opportunities for librarians. *Mrs. Aditi Gupta* Aditi Gupta is the Engineering & Science Librarian at the University of Victoria Libraries. She received her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of British Columbia in 2004 and has worked in libraries for over 19 years. She is currently the Visiting Program Officer, EDI for the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL). Aditi’s research interests include equity, diversity and inclusion, and social justice in libraries, inclusive teaching practices, information literacy instruction, and information-seeking behaviours of visible minorities, international students and multicultural populations. [RP = Richard Poynder, a UK-based technology journalist known for his coverage of open access and scholarly communication over the past more than 20 years] *** RP: In an article you published on Open Access last September (2005) in the Asian information newspaper *Access* you said "papers written by Indian scientists, often with support from Indian taxpayers' money, are not seen, read or cited by other Indian researchers." What is the problem here? SA: The issue is quite simple: research performed in India, and funded by Indian taxpayers, is reported in a few thousand journals, both Indian and foreign. Since some of these journals are very expensive, many Indian libraries — including sometimes the author's own institutional library — are not able to subscribe to them. As a consequence, other Indian scientists working in the same, or related, areas are unable to read these papers. This is a problem common to all developing countries. *** I am unable to locate the September 2005 issue of *Access*.It was a tabloid size news magazine. high quality and informative. It was edited by one Mr Clive Wing, who was earlier with IDRC's New Delhi office. Can any of you help me locate my half page article for me? I will be grateful. Access was sent to many academic libraries in India and other countries in Asia by the publisher at no cost.
