Android Application for Job Search
by Dp Tripathi 09 Jan '16

09 Jan '16

Dear Friends, I have created an Android Application which can be installed on any android supported Smart Phone in order to search any Job in Library & Information Science Field. This application will fetch the information from www.lislinks.com through feed and at at time will display 30 links on your screen with links. You can click on the link and can also read the message as well as go to website. You can also mark the link as star which will remain in your list for further reading. The main beauty of this application is to fetch the latest updates from the www.lislinks.com. As soon as any new information is displayed (only job) on the site, it will get updated in your smartphone also. I hope this application will be very useful for the library professionals. You can download the application at www.librarianguide.co.in/jobsearch.apk Your suggestions are most welcome..... Thanks with regards, -- ************************************************************** *Dhanwantari Prakash Tripathi* Assistant Librarian Biju Patnaik Central Library <http://library.nitrkl.ac.in> National Institute of Technology <http://nitrkl.ac.in> Rourkela, Odisha - INDIA 769008 *mobile: *+91-8895296796 *URL: http://dpt.librarianguide.co.in <http://dpt.librarianguide.co.in> * *URL: www.librarianguide.co.in <http://www.librarianguide.co.in> * *URL: www.koha.librarianguide.co.in <http://www.koha.librarianguide.co.in> * *URL: www.librarianguide.co.in/live <http://www.librarianguide.co.in/live> * ************************************************************** -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

Something terrible happened at American Libraries
by Subbiah Arunachalam 07 Jan '16

07 Jan '16

Friends: Please see how some editors in cahoot with commercial publishers distort articles written by scholars and go to the extent of injecting text from publishers into the main text of papers written by researchers. They even said that the authors and the publishers are partners in the work! And when the authors ask them to retract, the editors of the concerned journal refuse to do that. < http://stewartvarner.com/2016/01/04/um-about-that-american-libraries-articl… >. This episode can very well form the subject of an editorial in Current Science.
