Dear Professionals, We would highly appreciate, if you could kindly bring the following announcement to the notice of interested candidates and also request you to encourage the potential candidates to apply for these positions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, BENGALURU Opportunity for Project Trainee at JRD Tata Memorial Library, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru JRD Tata Memorial Library, Indian Institue of Science, Bengaluru is looking for young, dynamic, tech- savvy, highly motivated and committed Post-Graduates in Library & Information Science (Graduated in the year 2022 and 2023 only) from recognized Indian universities with consistent good academic record, to serve as Project Trainee purely on a temporary basis for two years. Persons having good communication and interpersonal skills with enthusiasm and passion to learn new skills and deliver services using emerging new tools and technology will be preferred Number of Positions: 08 positions (UR-06, OBC-01, SC-01) Duration: Engagement is purely temporary on a contract basis for a period of 2 years. Maximum Age Limit: 26 years, As on the last date of receipt of application. Age relaxation as per GoI norms (if applicable) will be extended. Remuneration/Emoluments: 25,000/- pm (Consolidated) 1. Library & Information Management (LIM) Project Trainee, No. of Positions - 06 Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in any Discipline followed by a Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) or its equivalent (Graduated in the year 2022 and 2023 only). The applicants should have secured a minimum of second class or equivalent in the basic academic degree and First Class or equivalent in the professional degree declared by the University. 2. Electronic Resource Management (ERM) Project Trainee, No. of Positions - 02 Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in any Discipline followed by a Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) or its equivalent (Graduated in the year 2022 and 2023 only). The applicants should have secured a minimum of second class or equivalent in the basic academic degree and First Class or equivalent in the professional degree declared by the University. Desirable: PGDLIM/PGDLAN/PGDCA or its equivalent. Selected Project Trainees are expected to work 6 days a week on any of the three shifts, including night shifts and holidays. Holiday duties will also be assigned. Selection of candidates will be based on their consistent good academic record, performance in the written test and personal interview. Dear All, We are pleased to announce that Registration <https://www.asist.org/2023/10/10/winter-school/> is now open for the upcoming Winter School for Enhancing Research Skills: A SIG-III Initiative! The Winter School presents six workshops to train information science professionals in developing their research skills through various tools and techniques for understanding social behavior, analyzing large datasets using tools and techniques such as Machine Learning, R, Word Vectors, Embeddings, Language, and Graphic Generative AI, Digital Wellness and Information Ethics. Each workshop's duration is six hours and will be conducted over two days with each session of three hours per day on specific topics. All sessions are virtual and synchronous. The workshops will be hosted on Zoom, between November 17 to December 12, 2023. The Zoom link will be sent 48-24 hours before the session.
