These days several integrated library systems are available for libraries to manage their products and services. Library-oriented applications have evolved through each of the generations of technology, from mainframes to client/server applications and more recently into those based on cloud computing and web-based technologies. The ongoing evolution of publishing and content creation continually makes an impact on the types of materials collected by libraries. Libraries have increasingly become more involved with print and digital materials, thus creating the need for new tools and technologies to acquire, manage, and provide access to them. This talk will provide a gist of an upcoming model for the library automation industry, called Library Services Platform (LSP), drawing attention from the libraries and library vendors. This survey is an analytical study to know about the technical competency of library professionals for using open source library management system Koha in Indian Libraries. Announcing a new plugin for Koha ILS

Greetings to all! The Koha OPAC is a rich environment that provides several facilities to its users. Many libraries around the world have built a complete digital presence (aka library portal) around it. Yet one feature that is missing natively in the Koha OPAC is an user feedback form. On the happy occasion of Janmasthami, I am pleased to inform you about release of a new Koha plugin - the AskALibrarian plugin that adds the ability to allows Koha's OPAC users to send a direct feedback to the library staff.
