by vinod mishra 21 Nov '19

21 Nov '19

Dear all The trends and attitude of Library science professionals indicate that LIS profession is in need of Typical computer science professionals in LIS departments as well as libraries. I would appreciate if at least one computer professor will be appointed in each department just like one information scientist in Libraries. We should think or change ourselves !

The matching words do not have to be consecutive, but they do have to be meaningful words. So for example, words such as 'and', 'to' or 'by' are classed as link words and would not count towards the 14 words, but those 14 meaningful words could be found in different places in the document - for example 3 words on page 1, 3 words on page 2, and 8 words on page 3. In the example given, yes, any matches of fewer than 14 words would be excluded if this option was selected in the 'exclude small matches' filter. Kind regards, P. S. MANJUNATHA LIBRARIAN B.N.M. Re: [LIS-Forum] Limit of consecutive words during plagiarism check

Dear Mr. Rama Thanks for your email and I appreciate your research capability and curiosity, actually not only some but many people in India are having the same misunderstanding and unfortunately, they have made some rules also without even spending at least a few minutes to check this practically in Turnitin. The claim of limit by consecutive words in Turnitin is so strong and dominating by many senior peoples that my mind is puzzled. I hope your reply will be viewed by many such people and they will re-think it and respond to their views again.
