Dear Professionals, I urgently need the information about the senior scales for the University assistant Librarians and college librarians. Whether it is after six years like teachers or after eight years. What is practice in your university? If it is after six years, how? Which circulars support it. The UGC circular says existing scheme will be continued. What does it mean? Is there any clarification from UGC regarding the CAS for librarians? I humbly request you to help me by providing latest information regarding CAS and practice in your university. The committee is meeting on 12/06/2003 and likely to ask the same. Please help me. Many times we need library professionals for our jobs but have difficulty in getting a right replacement. Can this forum be used to place such requirements ? some sort of 'match making'. This can work both ways : fm the employer's side and also fm the person who is looking out for a break/job...I think it will serve a good purpose. Any views? Although he has specifically written about the UK, it is applicable to India and other countries. Librarians and information scientists should mobilise public opinion in their institutions and elsewhere to make free online access to all our research publications a reality.
