_RSS Generators/Generators of RSS_ Colleagues/ I am greatly interested in learning of your favorite Small Scale and/or Large Scale RSS generators for Web Feeds. For a overview of Web feed and their application for library services please see my latest article "Rich Site Services: Web Feeds for Enhanced Information and Library Services," _LLRX®: Legal and Technology Articles and Resources for Librarians, Lawyers and Law Firms_, September 20, 2004. Available at [ http://www.llrx.com/features/richsite.htm ] (accessed 13 October 2004). Yes, I know I can Google (and have) but would prefer to Tap/Touch the Wisdom of the Web [:-) BTW: The Generation of other feed technologies (e.g., Atom) and techniques (e.g., JavaScript) are also of interest. I am particularly interested in Web Feed generation from Content Management System for Internet or Intranets, most notably those used in major U.S. Government Agencies. Hi all, Thanks , a very good idea . Someone will have to convene the group with a selected topic for discussion . Who will take care of it , We may meet every Quarter/ half yearly Zone wise . We will have to decide for expenses, for venue topic and so on . I can volunteer myself actively for helping the convennor. Onus would be on the convennor to decide the venue and the budget collection procedure. Let the interested members reply for it then it can be decided how we go about it . South zone --- (Hyderabad, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Chennai)may Join together for meeting. Dear All, Here's an email posted by Shri Prakash to Corporate Librarians Group: _________________________________________ It is better to work under one group, instead of having so many groups of same profession.Since, most of the same members are appearing in so many groups. So, according to me, all the professional group should come under one umbrella. We can share our ideas and professional opportunities and difficulties with one another. We should encourage more and more professionals, to join this group. At least one member should invite one professional. Kindly share your view, regarding the unification of Librarians group. LIS-FORUM has excellent institutional base and good service track record. Perhaps, it has the largest number of subscribers among all Indian LIS email lists. Let's avoid posting same messages to multiple lists. Its sheer wastage of time and Internet bandwidth. These are some of the issues which we need to think about: How can we improve the quality of postings? How to increase participation of all Indian LIS professionals? Is it not high time to provide to the Indian general public/foreign correspondents a single communication point from where they can address Indian LIS profession. Yes, says a highcourt lawyer who has approached Railway Minister to introduce lending library in long-distance trains. Johnson Manayani has, in his letter to Lalu Prasad Yadav, urged him to set a portion of a coach in long journey trains to help passengers pass their time profitably by reading novels or journals of their choice. "This not only encourages reading habits but earn the railway additional revenue". The library can take a deposit for the book and charge a reading fee. Deposit could be given back when a book is returned at the end of the journey or later. The Railway cannot lose. It could gain.
