Agricultural Statistics
by Tanika Chakraborty 11 Jul '06

Dear Friends, I am a doctoral researcher at Washington University, St Louis. My area of interest is development economics with emphasis on technoIogy for agriculture. For the purpose of my research, I am looking for district wise agricultural statistics of India 1998 onwards to the latest year available. I checked the Databook on Agricultural Resources at IASRI website which lists data on yields, production and several other information on different variables. The data are mainly time series and in some cases state wise data are also available. I also checked The Statistical Abstracts that are available online at http://mospi.nic.in/cso_rept_pubn.htm are given 2002 onwards and state wise. I am looking for the same data at the district level which I think are published in the annual Statistical Abstracts. Online, I could only find the Season and Crop report for the districts of Tamil Nadu that are listed at http://www.tn.gov.in/crop/ and I need the same data for the all other states from 1998 onwards. Can anyone tell me from where and how to get those statistics? Thanks in advance, Tanika. Dear Friends, I am a doctoral researcher at Washington University, St Louis. Date: Tue, 11 Jul 2006 11:51:37 +0530 From: Sukhdev Singh <esukhdev(a)gmail.com> I can predict that people would be citing Dr. Ranganathan's Online works more often now. People working in non-LIS areas will also discover by "googling" that ideas on which they are working now were already in the minds of Dr. Ranganathan. In my view - "Open Access" of this Internet Age is actually "First Law" of Dr Ranganathan's times. Thanks to Dr. Sathya, Prof. Neelameghan, Prof. Raghvan, Dr Prasad of SRELS and Prof. Anita of dLIST. --Sukhdev Singh, NIC. http://openmed.nic.in On 11/07/06, Subbiah Arunachalam <arun(a)mssrf.res.in> wrote: > Yes, Sukhdev, you are right.
