A Massive Case Of Fraud
by Thomas Abraham 26 Feb '08

26 Feb '08

Dear Colleagues, "A chemist in India has been found guilty of plagiarizing and/or falsifying more than 70 research papers published in a wide variety of Western scientific journals between 2004 and 2007. Some journal editors left reeling by the incident say it is one of the most spectacular and outrageous cases of scientific fraud they have ever seen." Read more about the fraudulent skills of Pattium Chiranjeevi, a Chemistry professor of Sri Venkateswara University,Tirupati, in Chemical and Engineering News at http://pubs.acs.org/cen/science/86/8607sci1.html It's high time for universities in India to make open access mandatory, so that these kinds of events can be avoided in the initial stages itself.
