The expectation of various professionals including academicians and researchers is very high on this National Education Policy – 2019, under MHRD. The volume runs to about 477 pages but the librarians input to this report requires more and serious attention. If librarians neglect at this stage, sufferers are our young and future professionals. Many professionals requested LIS Academy to take up this task seriously as majority of the senior LIS professionals are raising various issues in an informal discussion. He is a focal point for providing necessary information support to the public at large on the United Nations and global contemporary issues. Dr. R. K. Sharma is also a nodal expert on the digital library for the UN System in India. Keeping the spotlight on the library profession has been Dr. Sharma's key motto. His passion has driven him to intensely network among libraries and library professionals and made me thirsty to understand how in these highly challenging and charged times, new and emerging technologies can assist libraries to claim their rightful space in the sun. Besides having an extraordinary record of serving top academic and research libraries, he has been associated with key national and international professional organizations working for the growth and development of the libraries in the country. Customs Duty on Newsprints Also

Dear Sir/Madam, The recent budget presented by the Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman has imposed the customs duty on books published by foreign Publishers. The custom duty is not only imposed on books but also on newsprints. This is very retrograde in nature. The 10% percent customs duty on newsprints is also going to have negative impact on print journalism. The daily newspaper unlike news media or TV journalism have been critical of governments and by doing so have strengthen the democracy. Government should withdraw its order to impose customs duty on books and newsprints. The increasing customs duty also impact the readers strongly as the price of newspapers and books goes up people think twice to purchase or subcribe books and news papers.
