Dear Professionals, Thats really a very good suggestion, I think the reports and proceedings can be archived on a common open platform, LDL (Librarians' Digital Library) hosted at https://drtc.isibang.ac.in/ can be useful in this regard. And my personal view is that the contributor should get a complementary copy of the Seminar Proceedings or atleast reprint of the paper, in case he/she is not able to attend the seminar for some reason. CENTRAL STATE LIBRARY S SECTOR-17, CHANDIGARH Celebrating Success Over 50 Years ________________________________________________________________________________________ The Librarian and the staff of T.S Central State Library are pleased to announce through this communication that our Library is completing fifty years of dedicated service to the public of Chandigarh and surrounding areas. This Library was established in 1955 and today it is one of the richest libraries in Chandigarh with a collection of about two lakh books and a membership of over 40,000. Awarded with Best State Central Library by RRLF, Kolkotta for the year 2002 we have a separate Children Library and a Branch Library at Manimajra along with a Integrated Library Center in Govt. Sr. Sec. School Sec 27. Our Mobile Van servers all the villages of Chandigarh. The Library also hosts an American Corner on its second floor which is a partnership between American Information and Resource Center, U S Embassy, New Delhi and T.S Central State Library Chandigarh. It has a rich collection of Books, Magazines, CD-ROMs, Videos and DVDs related to American History and Culture. Besides the regular services of a public library we provide Free Internet Access to our members. We have a very good collection of original VCDs and DVDs (Educational and Movies) which can be taken for home viewing. Dear Friends, A public library in Alemelo,Holland , is lending out people in a new initiativeaimed at challenging stereotypes.Apart from books ,the users can borrow gay people ,gypsies and Muslims for an hour and talk to them about their lives.For instance teh public library visitors can borrow a muslim woman in ahead scarf and ask her questions they would not aother wise dare to find out if,they met her on the street.This is according to the public library director-Jan Krol. Th elibrary has contacted 10 people from differnet backgrounds who are willing to have a chat with its visitors in a nearby pub. How do u alll like this !!!!!!!!!
