Conversion of CDS/ISIS catalogue to greenstone

Dear All, It appears that a few Librarians are not clear as to whether their CDS/ISIS library catalogue can be converted into greenstone. It is very easy to convert CDS/ISIS catalogue into greenstone, with a few mouse clicks. The details are explained in the guide by Mr Pablo Moreto and Dr John Rose, already available at http://greenstonesupport.iimk.ac.in/Documents/CDS-ISIS_to_DL.pdf If librarians using CDS/ISIS are not learning greenstone, they are loosing a chance to present their database in an entirely different - but beautiful - output. Dear All The Central Library, IIT Bombay in collaboration with Max Muller Bhavan, Mumbai is organizing a half day's program on "Innovative Services for Special Libraries". Dr R.Ball, Head of the Central Library of Research Centre Jülich, Germany will be the main speaker. Dr Ball has been in the profession of Library Science since 1994 and has served both as a teacher of library science as well as a librarian. The programme also includes a presentation on the recently launched, Institutional Repository of IIT Bombay and a couple of demos on EBooks. With this multilingual support and a global team of volunteer editors, E-LIS has significant diversity in content, an advantage over traditional, english-based LIS resources. We have prepared an easy-to-follow Manual for Conversion of Winisis Archive into Greenstone collections with Greenstone digital Library software 2.72 Wnisis Archive here means an archive of full-text documents created by using link.......OPENFILE command. The manual is useful only for those who are familiar with creation of Winisis database with linked fulltext documents. (The contents in this manual are dealt with in the Dr John Rose's guide available in Internet. But we have excluded "as is" conversion of Winisis dabase to greenstone to make it simple). Our next document will be on easier customization of Greenstone.
