A highly decorated Indian Industry icon; he is an inspiration for young Indians. He is currently the Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Patna. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Jabalpur Engineering College and has completed an Executive Program from the University of Michigan. He was conferred the Honoris Causa, Doctorate of Science by IIT Roorkee. Working closely with the Government of India, he has been part of several Government of India committees and endeavors that aim at increasing IT proliferation in India, and also towards facilitating the growth of the IT and Electronics industry in India. He led the Government of India IT Task Force, established in 2009. The Economic Times adjudged him among “India Inc.’s Most Powerful CEOs” in 2009. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011. Gen. S K Gadeock, AVSM Commandant Defence Services Staff College Wellington, Tamil Nadu Lieutenant General Sunil Kumar Gadeock, AVSM was commissioned into the Brigade of the Guards, Indian Army in 1977. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, and holds a Master of Science (Defence Studies), Master of Philosophy and also Diploma in Senior Level Defence Management. During his distinguished career in the Army, he has served in important and sensitive positions as command, staff and instructional appointments. He has been the youngest Aide to the President of India. He was specially selected by the DGMT, Army Headquarters as the Adjutant of the National Defence Academy. His service to the nation has called for several decorations including the AVSM (Ati Vishisht Seva Medal) for his distinctive creation of infrastructural assets during Command of 9 Infantry Division and many Commendation Cards along his career as recognitions to his outstanding services to the nation. Earlier Mr A Rajender met sri Ramana Chary requesting him to help in development and effective management of libraries both public and academic.Mr Rajender also met Mr Goud, Parliamentary secretary and impressed upon him to do something for the benefit of the libraries on 11 Feb President along with Mr Rajender Alvala Raj who works for 6 TV met Prof Haragopal, who is associated with the committee related to reforms in education in the State and also reforms in Telangana Public Service commission and recruitment process. we also met sri Allam Narayana, Chairman, Telangana Press Academy.Both of them were briefed about the status of public and academic libraries, we requested them to help in development and retaining the glory of public libraries, we discussed with them about recruitment, problem of cess that is not released to ZGS for book purchase, present conditions of the buildings and book collection. Requested them to use good offices to recruit both public library staff and also academic library staff, we requested them to help public libraries development and services by nominating professionals, and educated people rather than politicians to ZGS and Telangana Granthalaya Parishad.They gave patient hearing and responded positively. National Seminar on Transforming UNIVERSITY Libraries: JNU Leading the way Date: January 28, 2015 at 10:00 A.M Venue: Auditorium-I, Convention Centre, JNU Organized by Central Library Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi Supported by EBSCO Concept Note: The role of university library systems over a decade has undergone varied diverse changes. The university libraries have had to compete with the “world wide web” and IT savvy users to get the eyeball attention. These libraries, are not only started opening 24X7 physically but also making the available, all resources, at a touch of the key 24x7. The message has been loud and clear to the library leaders that transformation of university libraries is essential to deliver a fast, simple and systematic services through various tools to integrate all of the library’s’ diverse resources In the University Library Systems, JNU is leading the way with modern, advanced services available round the clock not in campus but anywhere, anytime through the virtual world. The National Seminar intends to showcase and launch the services and tools recently initiated in the university library as a role model. In this series it includes New JNU Library website; Web Scale Discovery Solution; Athens Cloud based Access Gateway and Launch of Website of ETD 2015: 18th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations. i. The new JNU Library website has been designed on a open source and with attractive appearance, updated content, more functionality and usability with modern library world services integration. ii. The JNU Library through its dynamic design of “single search box” of Discovery Services intends to bring patrons back, to the library, as their first point of call for their information needs. The traditional tools provided by the library to search various library databases, catalogues and other electronic resources, all of which are in different silos and have totally uncommon characteristics leading to underutilized usage of library resources, among other challenges. Similarly, the Athens cloud solution adopted by JNU will ensure that all the patrons of JNU can now have access to virtually every subscribed information resource on their finger tips from the comfort of their homes or any other part of the world. iii. JNU library will be organising ETD 2015: 18th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations, which is an international symposium and a platform for gathering of current and future researchers and practitioners in the area of Electronic Theses and Dissertations. This event will be held in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Campus, New Delhi, India during 4th - 6th November 2015 with a theme “Evolving Genre of ETDs for Knowledge Discovery”. It is a unique event, first time to be organised in India.
