Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems were introduced as the decisive technological response to digital piracy pertaining to digital content. The distribution of digital content over the Internet via file-sharing networks has made traditional copyright law obsolete in practice. To cope up with this situation a DRM system tends to stress upon the copyright, the management, control as well as distribution, concerned to a digital content. The study intends to examine the application of DRM systems, their need and relevance. The study will further evaluate how DRM affects the digital content and its user and explores the relationship between them. Also, focus is given to how corporate sector make use of DRM systems, various technological advancements in DRM, as well as, an analysis of existing practices. Dear all, I am a Co-Chair of the Association for Information Science and Technology / ASIS&T (Asia-Pacific Chapter) and an associate professor at The University of Hong Kong (Faculty of Education). Our Association is holding a conference in Cambodia with “Effective Learning in Low-Tech Information Environments” as the theme (https://www.asist.org/events/regional-meetings/asiapacificregionalconferenc…) Until now, we have received 40+ papers/ workshops/ panels for the conference. We believe that your participation in the conference will make it even more colorful. Here are some information that may interest you regarding the conference. Main goal of the conference: The conference is organized and supported by a team of esteemed international experts in Information Science and Learning Sciences from 19 different countries. We believe that the Conference can help Cambodia to move forward in applying knowledge and techniques in the two disciplines for the benefits of the Cambodian learners, as well as learners in other developing countries. Targeted participants: This conference aims to attract 200+ attendees from around the world, including professors, researchers, teachers, librarians, policy makers, and students. Some famous scholars have agreed to attend and give keynote speeches at the conference. In addition, two special panels will be held during the conference with the theme “how Information Science and Learning Sciences may help Cambodia move forward in the 21st Century” (targeting at higher education) and “how to help students learn effectively and happily in the Industrial Revolution 4.0” (targeting at kindergarten, primary and secondary education). That’s right, it’s time for the world to start building a canon of the most significant websites of all time, and the Gizmodo staff has opinions. What does a spot on this list mean? It certainly doesn’t mean “best.” A number of sites on this list are cesspools now and always have been. We’re not even sure the internet was a good idea—we’ll need another few decades before we come to any conclusions. It explores the roots of the current epistemic crisis in political communication with a focus on the remarkable 2016 U.S. president election culminating in the victory of Donald Trump and the first year of his presidency. The authors present a detailed map of the American political media landscape based on the analysis of millions of stories and social media posts, revealing a highly polarized and asymmetric media ecosystem. Detailed case studies track the emergence and propagation of disinformation in the American public sphere that took advantage of structural weaknesses in the media institutions across the political spectrum. This book describes how the conservative faction led by Steve Bannon and funded by Robert Mercer was able to inject opposition research into the mainstream media agenda that left an unsubstantiated but indelible stain of corruption on the Clinton campaign. In recent times, many new and different data storage technologies have emerged. However, which one is best suited and has the most appropriate features for data engineering? Most engineers are familiar with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and MySQL, which are structured in relational data tables with row-oriented storage. Given how ubiquitous these databases are, we won’t discuss them today. Instead, we explore three types of alternative data storages that are growing in popularity and that have introduced different approaches to dealing with data. Within the context of data engineering, these technologies are search engines, document stores, and columnar stores. - Search engines excel at text queries. When compared to text matches in SQL databases, such as LIKE, search engines offer higher query capabilities and better performance out of the box. - Document stores provide better data schema adaptability than traditional databases. The inaugural edition of the QS India University Rankings, is designed to offer an independent analysis of the performance of Indian institutions. The rankings include Public Universities, Private Universities and H.E. Institutions or Deemed Universities. Single faculty specialist institutions or single level institutions (e.g. teaching principally at postgraduate level) are not included. IIT Bombay is named India’s leading institution. IITs take up seven of the top-10 places. IIS Bangalore takes the second spot. Twenty Indian institutions receive full marks in the Staff with PhD, the indicator designed to identify the extent to which institutions are cultivating a highly-qualified faculty body. In the research productivity indicator, nine institutions achieve a score between 98.4 and 100.
