Hello Friend Veena, My Dr. P. Rajendran working as Dy. Head, Library of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Trivandrum. Regarding your query related to the migration of data from Libsys to Koha with 100%, I would like to reply as follows, 1. Migration of data from Libsys to Koha is possible depending upon the database used in Libsys and Koha. In Koha I know SQL or MariaDB is used. I don't know about Libsys. 2. Check whether Libsys using SQL or Oracle or any other database system. 3. Check whether Libsys is having MARC21 export feature, If it is available you export to MARC 21 and can be loaded to Koha very easily. 4. So many articles are available on the Internet regarding migrating data from Libsys to Koha. 5. You can find some Koha implementation experts available in the market and discuss with them Regards. Namaste, Could any one kindly help us in 100% data conversion and migration from Libsys to Koha? TIFR CAM is using LIBSYS 7 and would like to shift to Koha. Before shifting to Koha, the library committee wants to test using Koha for a few months and then decide. For the last three years we have been trying, but could not get the data converted! I am very sorry to say this. I have personally requested some professional colleagues who always post lots of stuff about Koha in this forum and have got no response!! So finally, I am posting my request in the forum with a hope to get help. Thanks in advance and in anticipation of a proactive response. IATUL offers an influential and inclusive community of university library directors from around the world. The Annual Conference is a unique opportunity to share views and develop new collaborations. Papers are invited on the following theme: Weaving our Future: Creativity, Innovation and Transformation in Libraries. As higher education moves beyond the pandemic, libraries are positioned to lead in an environment in which teaching, learning, research, and work practices are shifting. The IATUL 2022 conference will provide excellent opportunities to explore, learn and share diverse experiences. Informatics launches Scite.AI in India -- the Next Generation Citation Database

Informatics is pleased to launch Scite.AI in India – the next Generation citation database that looks far ahead of traditionally known citation databases. The launch program is scheduled as part of the 6th Library Technology Conclave (https://LT2022.org) on the coming Friday, the 7th January 2022, as both physical and online event. Physical event is going to be held in Bangalore at the Hotel ITC Fortune Park JP in Race Course Road, 4-6.30 PM. The LIS professionals in Bangalore are specially invited to join the program in person. The legacy citation databases evolved during the time technology was primitive. They indexed the cited references without the context. For the context of the citation and to determine the intent with which they are cited, the readers had to access full text of the articles separately and read through the article. Eugene Garfield realized this limitation and envisioned the idea of citation marker to classify the cited references based on the context of their citation. This was beyond the technology of his times, and until recently. Scite.AI, a major technological break-through in the citation database domain, fulfills this vision of Garfield by using AI based Machine Learning (ML) and deep-learning techniques. Besides finding out how many publications have cited his paper; a researcher can look at the context in which the citing authors have cited his paper and the intent of citing that paper. The intent of citing in a context is indicated by classifying the cited references based on the contextual information and using three tags: (a) supporting the views of citing paper; (b) disagreeing/contrasting with the vies of citing paper; (c) mere citing. The development of Scite.AI is part funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), USA and the National Institute of Health (NIH), USA.
