Hi Network, Greetings from SocialWell. We are a digital design and consulting firm working to develop products and services in digital agriculture and digital health. SocialWell has started working on a completely new digital library framework that enables managing multiple formats in a single user interface (yet with a modular backend) and can easily be connected with institutions’ web and mobile Apps, and leverages the modern technologies that provide scalability. The formats will also include data explorer to discovery of open data. We would be interested to work with the organizations who would participate in the piloting. White House bans paywalls on taxpayer funded research

The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) delivered guidance for agencies to update their public access policies as soon as possible to make publications and research funded by taxpayers publicly accessible immediately upon publishing, without an embargo or cost. All agencies will fully implement updated policies, including ending the optional 12-month embargo. The current optional embargo allows scientific publishers to put taxpayer-funded research behind a subscription-based paywall – which may block access for innovators for whom the paywall is a barrier, even barring scientists and their academic institutions from access to their own research findings, unless they pay. For anyone to get access to that publication, they have to pay hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars to subscribe to a single journal. Fourth International Conference on Science & Technology Metrics (STMet 2022) December 14-16, 2022 Organized by Jain University, Bangalore in collaboration with Iran Regional Information Center for Science & Technology Co-located at Shiraz, Iran www.socio.org.uk/stm CALL FOR PAPERS Building metrics is the key to science and technology measurement and translating the measures to work better. Metric is not confined to draw numbers and analyze. Selecting a metric depends on synthesizing multiple directions and evidence-based data. Producing benchmarks and standards in science and technology evaluation and implementing them with real data, mark the full-fledged system. Quite recently, we are witnessing the emergence of new metrics-based models aiming to reflect science and technology growth. The proposed Science and Technology Metrics (STMet 2022) conference is concerned with how the use of many metrics may involve the assessment of different aspects of science and technology which are best expressed using different approaches. Besides the standard conference track and the Doctoral Symposium, the STMetrics will host a number of workshops and tutorials related to the theme of the conference. The purpose of the workshops is to provide participants with a friendly, interactive atmosphere for presenting novel ideas and discussing there application of metrics in Science and Technology System. The goal of the tutorials is to enable the participants to familiarise themselves with theoretical as well as practical aspects and application of metrics. The proposed conference consists of invited talks, presentations, tutorials, workshops and discussions. The STMet has tracks on specialized topics. The STMet address the below themes, not limited. The review process will enable the selection process of those that will be accepted for there presentation at the international conference. Authors of accepted papers who registered in the conference can have access to the evaluations and possible feedback provided by the reviewers who recommended the acceptance of there papers, so they can accordingly improve the final version of there papers. Mentoring support is available to young researchers and authors of developing countries. Selected post-conference modified versions of the papers will be published in a few journals.
