Please read the extract given below. On first reading of only the extract, I thought that the smell emitted by old books is helpful in fighting insect borne diseases. Intriguing. Only after reading the story given by the link, I realised that invaluable scientific research data contained in OLD forgotten books are extremely useful!! This may be called jumping to conclusions! This also shows that Google is a lot more than just a search engine! Dear Members of LIS-Forum "Case-studies on Innovations in Libraries" has been an attention-grabbing event of LTC, leading to the Informatics Innovation Award. The 7th LTC 2023 – Library Technology Conclave<https://www.ltc2023.org/> has been receiving nominations. The last date for receiving the nominations is January 10, 2023, less than a month away. Please use this opportunity to showcase innovations in your libraries in this session by filing your nomination online at Informatics Innovation Award – LTC 2023<https://www.ltc2023.org/informatics-innovation-award/>. Innovations need not be big involving expensive technologies. Any simple ideas, techniques or developments which are unique in their context and method of implementation that are found useful by users or have helped in the library's administrative and management process are welcome for nomination. Selection criteria for interview choosen by CTUAP for Assistant Librarian post

Publications have more importance than experience in selection of candidates for interview. The following message is given by Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh for selection of candidates for interview for Assistant Librarian post. "*Based on the prescribed eligibility criteria, and the candidates fulfilling the same and on the basis of the API Score, the top 15 candidates (maximum) have been shortlisted for interviews. Only shortlisted eligible candidates are being called for interview*..." If publications get more importance then post like deputy librarian, librarian will also be based on publications than many years of experience. There is no uniformity in selection criteria nowadays in various institutions. The experts in library domains need to frame a standard for this. Otherwise experience has no values in some organisations and those who only want to be good librarian will surely miss many opportunities in future.
