Dear List Members I am happy to announce the formation of a charitable Trust called Kesavan Institute of Information and Knowledge Management. The trust has been formed as an initiative of many former colleagues, friends, admirers, students and relations of late Mr B S Kesavan as a token of our admiration and respect for Mr Kesavan's many achievements as a pioneer institution builder, a warm human being and a mentor to so many of us. The initial funding for the trust has been provided by voluntary contributions by many of Mr Kesavan's colleagues and others. In fact the trust has been working for the last one year on various initiatives. However, we did not formally announce the formation since we were waiting for approval from the Income Tax authorities for tax exemption. We are now told that the exemption will come this month. A web site for the Institute has just been created and the URL is: http://www.kiikm.org/. There is already some content on the site and more will be added in time. I would appreciate hearing from members of this list about the objectives and initiatives of the Trust. The current trustees of the Institute are M/s S Parthasarathy, A K Dasgupta and L J Haravu. Mr T N Rajan, also a long time colleague of Mr Kesavan has taken the role of Settlor of the Trust. The Institute is committed to collaborating with like minded individuals and institutions on activities envisaged in the objectives of the trust and I welcome your comments and suggestions.
