Thiagarajar College of Engineering, a Government aidedautonomous
institution, affiliated to Anna University,Chennai is one among the
several educational andphilanthropic institutions founded by
Philanthropist andIndustrialist Late Shri. Karumuttu Thiagarajan
Chettiar.It was established in the year 1957 and grantedAutonomy in the
year 1987 by UGC. TCE is funded byCentral & State Governments and
Management. TCEoffers 8 UG and 11 PG programmes and Doctoralprogrammes in
Engineering, Technology, Science andArchitecture. TCE is an approved QIP
centre forpursuing Ph.D. programmes in Engineering.

Institutional Archives offer access toa wide range of materials, both

SALIS is a registered national professional body,actively involved in the
development of all spheres ofLibrary and Information Science by organizing
variousprogrammes like conferences, seminars, workshops andtraining
programmes on emerging topics throughout theyear in various parts of the
country through its chapterslocated in many places. SALIS publishes
national andinternational journals, proceedings and newsletters
forexchange of information and knowledge among LISprofessionals. SALIS
instituted many awards toencourage and motivate LIS professionals. One of
theobjectives of SALIS is to train the LIS professionals inthe country to
handle the latest IT tools and techniquesmore effectively and efficiently

highquality library service to the users.
About the Conference
The Digital India movement is a flagship programme ofthe Government of
India with a vision to transform Indiainto a digitally empowered society
and knowledgeeconomy. The GOI is taking many initiatives to makedigital
India such as e-governance, digital transactions invarious sectors such as
banking, education, publicdistribution system, e-commerce, transport etc.
DigitalIndia policy will transform our nation and createopportunities for
all citizens by harnessing digitaltechnologies. The role of library is
shifting fromdistribution of books to focusing on learning, readingand
literacy. Libraries are the effective self-learningcentres for all in a
society and play a major role toempower the citizens to create a knowledge
society.Libraries are also taking many initiatives to contribute inmaking
the Digital India. Libraries need to have nationalpolicy for public,
academic and special libraries not onlyfor creating, storing,
disseminating digital service butalso have a policy on digital
transactions and digitalpreservation of library resources, traditional
knowledgeand culture of our society. This two days conference willprovide
a platform for LIS professionals, teachers,educators and policy makers to
discuss the role oflibraries on-line with the Digital India movement.

Submission of Papers
Original and unpublished papers on the conferencethemes are invited for
presentation in the conference.Papers will be accepted only after strict
review byeditorial committee. Accepted papers will be publishedin the
Conference Proceedings with ISBN. Selectedpapers may also be published in
the SALIS journals.
Author Guidelines
The full paper in word file (with an abstract notexceeding 200 words and
at least 3 keywords) should besubmitted as an e-mail attachment
totcesalis17@gmail.com. Paper should not exceed 6 pages(line space: 1.5,
font size: 12, font: TMN, reference:APA). For more details, please visit

fee
