Dear members, This is to inform you that NCSI-NET, an association comprising of staff, students and alumni of NCSI, is organizing the second national level Dr. TBR Memorial Seminar, in memory of Late Dr. T.B. Rajashekar, erstwhile Associate Chairman, NCSI, IISc. It is a one day seminar targeted exclusively for the benefit of students of final year/semester Library and Information Science course or its equivalent. The details of the seminar are given below. Seminar Title : Dr. T B Rajashekar Memorial Seminar on Competencies for the budding Information Professionals in the Digital Era Date: November 11, 2006 (Saturday) Venue: National Centre for Science Information (NCSI), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore - 560012 Target audience: Students of the final year/semester of Masters in Library & Information science course or its equivalent Seminar coverage: The Seminar is conducted with an intention to create awareness amongst the budding professionals about the latest developments in the information and communication technologies applicable to our LIS profession. The present Seminar will give the students an overview of Designing the Library Websites for maximum usability and Effective Web searching. There will be a session dealing with career building strategies and job opportunities for LIS professionals. Registration fee: Rs. 150/- We are not making any arrangements for accommodation. However, we will provide names and addresses of some affordable hotels, which are in the close proximity to IISc, in the workshop web site in due course of time.
