Dear Members, Thirty-five years ago, a young computer science student, Linus Torvalds, shared a modest announcement about a new operating system he was developing, describing it as "*just a hobby, won't be big and professional*." That project eventually became *Linux*, one of the most widely deployed open-source technologies in computing history. Interestingly, Linux was almost named *"*Freax*"* before the name "Linux" was adopted. Today, Linux powers a significant portion of the world's servers, supercomputers, cloud infrastructure, smartphones, and digital services.
