Dear Sir / Madam / Friends GREETINGS !!! Dr.S. L. Kadadeveramath, Associate Professor (Library) Sree Siddaganga Arts, Science and Commerce College for Women, Tumkur, is superannuating in July 2013. He served the cause of Library Profession for about 3 decades and made an everlasting impression as a vibrating professional through his relentless services. With a modest beginning as a Project Officer (Libraries) in the Adult Education department, he raised to the present position evincing keen interest in the professional development. He has to his credit 12 years of teaching experience in JOC course and also for five years he taught in the department of Library and Information Science, Tumkur University as a guest faculty in the initial stages. His involvement in the professional activities helped him to serve as a Member, Vice President, President of various professional organizations of reputation. He was also closely involved in organizing in all 17 State level, National level and International level seminars and conferences. The significant leadership role he played in organizing the training program for Degree college and PU College librarians to orient towards the ICT skills is laudable and the entire professional fraternity remembers his key role in convincing the government and managing the funds for this purpose. Profession in turn has rightly rewarded him by awarding Best Librarian, 2008 and Zilla Rajyotsava Award (Tumkur District 2008). Above all Dr. Kadadeveramath has been regularly bringing out a leading professional journal “Indian Journal of Library and Information Technology (IJLIT)” which is in many way encouraging the aspiring professional writers. He has participated in 53 Seminars and Conferences organized by various institutions and has contributed papers on important themes. The activities of Dr. Kadadevaramath were not just confined to LIS profession but, it also extended to serve the cause of Rotary Club at different levels. He has been richly honoured by recognizing his yeomen services. He has shown extraordinary abilities in safeguarding professional welfare and has not left any stone unturned to gain the due place for librarians in the academic environment.
