"During tough economic times, information professionals must take advantage of every opportunity to master new skills, stay competitive and provide superior service to their organizations," said SLA CEO Janice R. Lachance. "Opening up the Click U certificate courses to non-members will make this advanced training accessible to any information professional." Most SLA certificate courses are offered online through the association's Click University and are taught by instructors who are thought leaders in their fields. Courses in the competitive intelligence certificate program cover topics such as planning and development, research, analysis, intelligence delivery, and managing intelligence. The popular copyright management curriculum includes instruction in domestic and international copyright law, digital copyright issues, use of copyright-protected materials, digital license agreements, copyright collective agreements (such as the Copyright Clearance Center and Access Copyright), managing content and copyright compliance.
