New book on case studies for teaching library manaement
I am happy to let members of Lis-forum know that Kesavan Inst. of Information and Knowledge Management (KIIKM) has just published a book, titled, Case Studies for Teaching Library Management. The book is authored by N G Satish of ASCI, Hyderabad and Anil Takalkar of Centre for Media and Rural Documentation,National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad. L J Haravu, Managing Trustee of KIIKM has edited the book. The book provides teachers of library management and library managers with skills to utilize the case study approach as an effective method for problem-solving, decision making and consensual deliberation. The 39 case studies included in the book are based entirely on Indian scenarios and perspectives. They reflect the way that libraries in India are set up, staffed and managed, and subject, as libraries are, to the way Indian organizations are managed.
