National Seminar on “Plagiarism and Validation of Research in the Internet era: problems and prospects”
The Department of Library and Information Science, Punjabi University, Patiala is organizing a one-day National Seminar on Plagiarism and Validation of Research in the Internet era: problems and prospects on 24 February 2011. Introduction: Plagiarism has been considered a major problem in academics and research since the written word and the means of reproducing written word reached masses. In the age of the Internet, where access to vast information resources across space and time is possible in seconds, the possibilities for plagiarism have increased manifold. Beside legal and ethical issues, this has serious implications for research process and its validation. This seminar is being organized Department of Library and Information Science, Punjabi University, Patiala, to address these and related issues. The Seminar: The inaugural session would be held from at 10.15 on Thursday, 24 February 2011 in the Senate Hall at Punjabi University, Patiala. The programme would include a mixture of lectures, presentations and panel discussion.
