Conclave on "Engineering Education for Digital Transformation & Industry 4.0" during 6-7 Dec 2019 at RMKEC
Dear All RMK Engineering College, as part of its silver jubilee celebrations is organising a two-day conclave on *"Engineering Education for Digital Transformation & Industry 4.0"* during 6-7 Dec 2019 at RMKEC, Kavaraipettai, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu -- 601 206 About the Conclave This conclave aims at hearing the voices the various stakeholders involved in this process of transforming engineering education to suggest course corrections needed without compromising on the fundamental tenets of education and keeping in mind the increasing societal responsibilities of the profession. It would aim at: · Looking at the emerging technologies and the changing pattern of industry practices in respect of these technologies · Assessing the needs of the industry in terms of the skills and knowledge required in respect of AI, IoT, Data Sciences & Analytics, Cloud Computing, Additive Manufacturing, Autonomous Systems, Cyber Physical Systems, etc. · Restructuring engineering education to arrive at a mutually agreeable and beneficial process design taking into account the modernisation of laboratories, availability of MOOCs, and practice based education · Suggesting ways in which there is greater involvement of the industries and R&D laboratories in the education process · Facilitating greater innovation and development of entrepreneurial ability among students · Coming out with appropriate recommendations For conference brochure and the detailed programmes for both the days of the conclave, pl. visit http://rmkec.ac.in/glogin/uploads/conclave-40-up.pdf Around 25 eminent speakers will present on the emerging technologies, industry practices, academic perspectives, enabling tools, modernization of laboratories and trending job opportunities. *The participation in this conclave is FREE and is open to professionals from industry, senior faculty members, practitioners from regulatory bodies, professional societies, and tool developers and distributors. * Those interested in participating in this two-day conclave may pl. register at https://forms.gle/pXPjyxeZ7SJXJins6 The organizers will review the registrations received and confirm the selected for participation.
