Dear Professionals and friends, SALIS(Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science) is going to organise an UNESCO sponsored one week Sub-National Workshop on Information Literacy Competency Development for Special Educators and Library Professionals at Chennai from 6th-10th Nov 2006. There is no participation and other fee for the selected candidates. Boarding and lodging also will be arranged. We are in the process of inviting/nominating thirty Librarians working in Special institutions for Physically challenged( Visually handicapped, deaf/blind, etc) institutions/organizations/schools /Colleges under Govt/NGO/Private sectors in the southern states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, Andaman Nicobar Islands and Tamilnadu. We are also collecting information about such special institutions and also Librarians working there. We have also collected addresses of special institutions. We found that qualified Librarians are working only in a few such institutions. We need more addresses of Librarians working in such special institutions immediately for selecting/nominating them. Therefore, we request you to kindly send name and addresses of Librarians working in such special institutions near to your place, etc if you know.
