Well these days I am simply sitting at home and doing nothing. I have taken leave for three weeks for some family reason. While playing with my mobile, I thought of using it to blog. Blogger.com does offer such a facility and my blog http://sukhdev.blogspot.com is fortunately on it. To get started I had to sent an empty email to go@blogger.com from the phone itself. Sending email from a web based service won't work. So using Opera Mini or GMail "App" from a GPRS enabled phone won't work. My Sony Ericsson K750i does allows to send and receive mails through its own in-built client placed under its SMS menu. But it needs to be configured to a working POP / SMPT account. GMail does offers such a facility of POP account. All I wanted was the proper GMail POP setting to use it from my phone. I got these setting after Googling from my phone's Opera Mini. Once these setting was entered an email was sent to go@blogger.com. Within minutes I got an email providing me an URL of a new blog and a six digit code. I was supposed to enter this code at http://go.blogger.com and claim the new mobile blog created for me. I tried without success to claim the blog with the Mini Opera from my Phone. The problem was that I had to enter another verification code displayed in form of an image. My phone's browser was sending data without allowing me to enter the code. I gave up from the phone. Ultimately I could claim my mobile blog from a PC. As soon as my code was accepted, I was prompted to enter my gmail account. I entered the same and got a choice to redirect emails sent from my phone to my existing blog i.e. http://sukhdev.blogspot.com . I was ready to test my mobile blogging. I wrote an email in my phone (very similier to this) and sent it to go@blogger.com . The content of the email were on my blog with few seconds. --Sukhdev Singh, NIC. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
