This service provides personalized assistance to library users in accessing and using suitable information resources to meet their needs. The reference services saw an advancement through the metamorphosis in technology which gave birth to Digital Reference Services (DRS). E-mail reference, Web-Forms, and Instant Messaging are the main channels used in providing digital reference services. Our study scrutinizes the various forms of DRS, its models, and their implementation. Nevertheless, emerging trends, challenges, and issues, DRS implementation across the world is also covered.
