SALIS - Dr.R.Srinivasan Memorial Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award (Research in LIS) 7. SALIS - Dr.A.Essaki - Memorial Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award (Tamil Nadu - Public Library) 8. SALIS - Mrs. M.Jannath Najeemunnisa Beegum Memorial National Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award [for Women Librarians] 9. SALIS - Mr.G.G.Sivakumar Memorial Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award 10.SALIS - LIS National Best Teacher Award 11.SALIS – EDUSYS - National Dynamic Librarian Award 12.SALIS -  SALIS - Ln. Dr.K.S.Rangasamy MJF NationalBest Library Extension Services Award 13.SALIS - Dr. M. Tamizhchelvan Memorial National Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award (Research in LIS - for Young LIS Professionals below 40 years) 14.SALIS - Thirumathi K.Chellammal Memorial Life Time Achievement Award for LIS Professionals  A committee constituted by the President, SALIS will select a suitable candidate for each award among the nominations/applications received strictly based on the criteria fixed for the award. If suitable candidates are not found for the award, the committee will nominate deserving LIS professionals strictly based on the criteria fixed for the award. All the awardees will be presented a memento/Citation and shawl on 13th October 2023 during the three day SALIS 2023-  National Conference  organized by SALIS and National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, Tuticorin Dt (near Tirunelveli).Last date for receipt of application/nomination is 20.09.2023 Application forms will be made available for download at www.salis.in or send a mail to the Convener, Award Committee @ salislib.info@gmail.com and mark a copy to  amvenku@gmail.com  All the details of the awards, eligibility, instructions, application form, etc are available at SALIS website @ www.salis.in Please note that softcopy by email will not be accepted.  The filled-in application form along with the supported documents ( hard copies ) should be sent by post only to: The President, SALIS, 32G, 2nd Main Road Sabari Nagar Extension, Mugalivakkam Chennai - 600 125. Please note that SALIS gives awards to LIS professionals for their meritorious services rendered to the profession, to society, or research contributions. Therefore, SALIS WILL NOT COLLECT ANY AMOUNT IN ANY FORM TO APPLY FOR THE AWARD. Eligibility Criteria: 1. Applicant/Nominee should be a citizen of India and his/her conduct must be good. 2. The applicant should be a working library professional who holds at least a bachelor's degree in library science or its equivalent. 3. Interested professionals should apply on the prescribed application form only. 4. Senior professionals can also nominate deserving candidates using the prescribed application. 5. The application form can be obtained from the President, SALIS or downloaded from the SALIS website. Downloaded applications as per instructions given should reach the SALIS office on or before 20.09.2023 (Applications will not be accepted by email). 6. A committee constituted by SALIS will scrutinize the received applications/nominations from eligible candidates and select applicants for each award based on the criteria set for the award. If suitable candidates for each award is not found, the committee will nominate eligible candidates strictly based on the criteria for the award. 7. Please note that applications with documentary evidence will be accepted only in hardcopy. A Softcopy of the application will not be accepted. 8. The decision of the committee constituted by SALIS to select the candidate for the award is final. 9. The Award Committee has the right to postpone or cancel the award without assigning any reason. 10.
