Requesting the moderator to upload the followingDear Sir/Madam,It is very happy to note that the Department of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Karnataka  has released The College LIBRARY MANUAL-A Guide for LIS Professionals on 4th Sept, 2015. It is for the first time in India that the Govt. of Karnataka is releasing such library manual which covers almost all the duties and responsibilities in the library staff. Now the manual has become an official document which will serve the official functioning of the library in the college.I take this opportunity to thank Sri Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri. Deshpande, the ex-education minister, Mr. Kaushik Mukharji, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Karnataka, Mr. Bharath Lal Meena, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Higher Education, Mr. Chakravarthi Mohan, Commissioner, Dept. of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. Siddalinga Swamy Special Officer (QAC), Karnataka State College Librarians' Association and its members and all the Editorial Committee member librarians for their efforts to prepare the manual in a professional way and to release it. I also thank the subject experts for their necessary suggestions.I hope that the manual may be a set model for other States in India to take initiatives to prepare the library manual for their Departments.
