Dear professionals, Prof. Shalini R. Urs, a teacher par excellence, is attaining superannuation on 31st December 2016. It is the time for students, colleagues and well-wishers to genuflect to remember her accomplishments. She has been an integral and most influencing faculty over the aeons in the annals of the Department of Studies in Library and Information Science, University of Mysore, Mysuru. Prof. Shalini R. Urs, a persona with an unfathomable intellectual prowess coupled with an arresting academic brilliance, has been a beacon of light for students in the Department for over four decades. She is fondly called “my teacher” by all her students for her ways of being warm, soothing and benevolent in her interaction. She has made an impeccable impression in the minds of her students with her wisdom and very progressive mindset.
