Dear Colleagues, The professionals in Kerala express our deep condolence on the sad demise of Prof. M.A. Gopinath and pray for his soul to rest in peace. Prof. Gopinath was a doyen in Library and Information Science and Documentation.  He had long and good association with Dr S. R. Ranganathan and Dr. G. Bhattacharya.  He has contributed much to frame and develop the LIS and Documentation profession in India. I had personally experienced his commitment to the profession and intimacy to persons while we were doing 45 days course on CDS/ISIS and Library Automation at DRTC during 1991. The contributions of Dr. Gopinath will ever be remembered not only in India but also all other parts of the world. Dr. A.T.
