Dear Friends, Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management-Kerala (IIITMK) Library has been using Blog for disseminating Library activities to our Users and to the external world, since 2006. This can be accessed from http://iiitmklibrary.blogspot.com/ Objectives of this blog is to make users abreast of the latest developments in the Library by providing details about the library activities, new additions, book reviews, notification about forthcoming events, new resources etc It forms as an online notice borad of the Library. Apart from the above blog (which is accessible to all) we use an internal blog, which is accessible only to the Library staff. It can be accessed by the library staff through internet using login/password. This is used for library's knowledge management and effective communication. Every day each staff member communicate the proposed work plan and and they need to report in this blog the activities done. Hence this forms the collaborative diary of the Library. As each and every activities are documented and archived it would be very easy to manage the library even if some of the staff are on leave/changed their role etc,. as everything is documented other staff can continue the activities without any problem. Libraries can follow this approach if they have regular access to internet.
